Retired Teacher Wins Eduloan Reg 2011 Competition

Eduloan recently presented Sylvia Lebotsa, a retired teacher from MOM Seboni Highschool in Duduza with a R30 000 cash prize. Lebotsa was awarded by the Gauteng Education Department for the ‘Best Results in Grade 12' in 2008, at the MOM Seboni high school in Duduza.
Lebotsa took out a study loan for her son Tebogo Lebotsa worth R11 470.45 to further his studies at the Vaal University of Technology, studying Labour Relations diploma. She was automatically entered into a competition and was notified as the winner last week.

Eduloan's 'Win a Vuka' competition has wrapped up, seeing three lucky students whizzing off with their very own Vuka Scooter. The competition, run as part of the annual registration campaign across the country, gathered entries from every interested student that submitted an application, whether they went on to obtain a loan with Eduloan or not.
"The competition was a great success and we certainly reached our objective of rewarding students for showing an active interest in exploring funding options for their studies," adds Tendayi Gwata, Marketing Manager at Eduloan, "The Vuka scooters were a great draw card for students who would otherwise rely on public transport or lift-schemes to get to classes."
The three winners, who received their scooters during private handover ceremonies in each of their regions, were:
• Daniel Modise
• Eugene Zondi and
• Lendy Kgalang
Feedback from the winners has been very positive - all were ecstatic to have received a little piece of independence that will assist them in reaching their education goals.

The Diba family receives the laptop from Dr Mariette de Chavonnes Vrugt
(Eduloan Operational and Sales Manager in the Free State and North West).
Owning a laptop is one of the key necessities to any student - offering the flexibility and opportunity to work on and submit assignments, complete projects and conduct research timeously and from the comfort of your own home. Four lucky winners will now experience this convenience, thanks to Eduloan and their recently concluded ‘Win a Laptop' promotion.
Students were afforded the opportunity to qualify for the draw if they submitted their loan applications between 13 July and 28 August 2009. The promotion was enhanced by experiential activations on campus, and supplemented by weekly spot prize draws.
The lucky winner from the University of the Free State was Mr Phillip Diba. He requested a loan for his son Andile Diba, studying agricultural management at UFS. "This competition is just another way Eduloan has helped make my life easier and less complicated," adds Phillip, "Andile can use the laptop for his studies, and we can also use it together as a family."
The remaining three lucky winners, drawn on 4 September 2009, are:
Ms Winnie Ntombomzi Jozi
Mr. Gideon Ideon
Mr. Thabiso James Nqola
These winners will be using their new Dell laptops in their regular student and working lives, and have identified assignment and project completion and professional correspondence as their key uses for their new equipment.

CPUT Student Another Winner with Eduloan!
Stephan Wiese, 27, a third-year Quantity Surveying student from the Cape Town University of Technology, is the lucky winner of the recent R20,000 bursary competition held by Eduloan, in conjunction with KFM.
Providence, in the form of the generous prize from Eduloan, South Africa's dedicated education finance provider, smiled upon Stephan as he sat diligently studying at the varsity library during the holidays. Having heard the radio ad, he immediately logged on and entered online, but still can't believe he is the winner. Stephan says: "My mom has been funding my studies for the past three years, but is now retired and funds are seriously low. I was at my wits end trying to figure out how to pay for my last year without putting further strain on my mom, so this couldn't have come at a better time. I'm ecstatic to be the winner - thank you Eduloan and KFM!"

Our 2009 Grand Bursary Winner
In January 2009 Eduloan ran a national competition with Metro FM where entrants had to SMS the word ‘Eduloan' as well as their career of choice. The daily winners were put into the grand prize lucky draw for a R75 000 bursary.
Sinhle Mathevula, winner of the daily cash prize on day two of the competition, drew the grand prize, as well as a Mini Dell laptop - which will no doubt come in handy for all of those assignments.
"I can't believe it!" enthuses Sinhle. "Finally my dreams of studying further are about to come true. Words cannot express my gratitude to Eduloan for giving me this opportunity - it has already changed my life. Now that I can study it's like there's a light on my path. I will not let Eduloan down - I am going to work very hard at my studies and make them proud!"
Sinhle has enrolled for a two-year Diploma in Journalism at the Rosebank College in Braamfontein, starting on 23 February 2009. The balance of the bursary funds will be put towards assisting with her textbooks and accommodation requirements. This will be managed on the Edu-Xtras card. Eduloan is very aware that the high drop off rate in first year students is attributed to lack of supporting finance around education requirements (i.e. accommodation and textbooks), and as Sinhle will be relocating from Witbank to Johannesburg, the Edu-Xtras card will give her peace of mind to focus on her studies.
