Step 2: Choose your perfect education plan

Step two is a set of hyperlinks connecting you to every major centre of learning in the country. Choosing your ideal institution and course is the most important and time consuming part of preparing for more studies, but it can also be the most exciting and ultimately will be the most rewarding. You need to take your time and consider carefully which institution suits you best.

When you're done researching all the options available to you, move onto Step 3: Finance it with Eduloan.

Some things to consider:

Part-time or Correspondence?

This is a highly personal consideration and is both dependent on your location, your amount of free-time and the length of the course you have chosen to study. Part time courses mean that you are always assisted by someone trained in the particular field you’re looking into. Of course a part-time course requires a dedicated timing commitment.

With a correspondence course you can study, day or night, at your own pace. It requires an incredible amount of willpower and discipline however, as you need to regularly work on your course material in order to remain on schedule.

Do I just need the skills or is the institution’s reputation also a factor?

Naturally, the skills you’ll learn from a particular course should be your primary concern. However, if you are looking to advance within your company using the course, you might want to speak to your HR department first. Some companies have very strict rules regarding certain qualifications. Not only do they require a certain skill set, but they also require that it comes from certain educational institutions and certain areas of study.

You may also need to ensure that your learning centre is accredited. If this is not a requirement then rather select the option that best suits your needs and meets your time requirements. It might be useful to assess your study centre’s qualification using the National Qualifications Framework below.
